Store Management
Email Configuration
Connect Gmail, Outlook, or custom SMTP so OrderInChat can send order and notification emails from your address.
Overview
Store Management → Email (/{locale}/store/email-config) stores one SMTP configuration per store. There is no in-app email template editor — messages use built-in HTML when your config is active.
Setup
- Open Store Management → Email
- Choose a provider preset:
- Gmail (recommended)
- Custom SMTP
- Outlook (SMTP is often blocked — prefer Gmail or custom)
- Fill:
- From email / From name
- App password or SMTP password
- Host / port / SSL (Gmail port follows the SSL toggle; custom SMTP can quick-fill Hostinger, GoDaddy, Yahoo, iCloud, Zoho)
- Turn on Activate Configuration
- Save, then Send test email
Gmail
- Enable Google 2-Step Verification
- Create an App Password
- Use that password here (not your normal Google password)
What emails are sent (when active)
| Trigger | Recipients |
|---|---|
| New order | Customer “Order Received” + store “New Order” |
| Order status update | Customer status email (often alongside WhatsApp) |
| Team invite | Invitee |
| Task notifications | Assignees |
| Billing alerts | Store owners (platform / credit notices) |
| Test | Address you enter on this page |
Without an active config, some flows may fall back to a platform default sender (not your brand address).
Important distinctions
- Store Setup → Contact → store email is a display / contact field — not SMTP credentials.
- You cannot customize per-template subjects/bodies or toggle “Payment Received / Welcome” templates in the UI today.
- There is no separate Reply-To field on this page.
FAQ
Can I send customer mail from my own address?
Yes — configure and activate SMTP (Gmail app password or custom SMTP) on this page, then send a test. Order and status emails will use that From address when the config is active.
